recumbent bike racks need a safe ride too

amazon experience was flawless. thank you for providing an incredible experience. simple; pick it out, pay and it shows up on the door step, in just days. painless, great.rack is great for hauling the bikes from home to ride, and back. It is not designed to be attached to the rear of an rv, where motion can be excessive, so buyers might note this. as an rv owner, I fully understand. But, when shopping, it is not mentioned. Construction is a bit light, I add one heavy duty bungee to secure everything and I am really pleased. The 2" would be more stable than the 1 1/4" but slowing down on railroad tracks will be a good idea. Two recumbents can be quite a load for any rack. Driving conservatively is suggested. Rack is not robust enough to survive a Jeep track to a trail head.after installation I noted one side of rack was drooping so called manufacturer and discussed with Rick. He told me to send a pic and he would get a newer part out to me. Upon closer inspection, I decided the receiver was not plumb and that was causing the drooping arm, not any problem with the rack. Point is; good customer service was observed.Would I buy rack again. Yes, good quality for the price.

This hitch rocks! I have struggled with transporting my Long Wheelbase recumbent for years. I even resorted to fabricating my own add-on to a hitch based standard bike rack as a solution. This worked to a degree but had to be mounted and attached to the rack and removed as well at the end of the trip - big pain. The beauty of the Hollywood hitch is that you mount it into your hitch set the wheel wells at the right distance for your bike and just use it. It takes perhaps a minute to set the bike in the wells. strap the two wheels, and push the center bar down over the top frame tube. It's literally the epitome of ease. I would highly recommend this rack to recumbent owners.

Nicely designed and well engineered. Very fast delivery.The included threaded hitch pin must be fully tightened to solidly secure rack to hitch.I use the two included long straps to secure the front and rear of the bike to the integral roof rack of my Wagon.I purchased a #915 Fork Mount from Hollywood Racks to reduce the overall length of the bike by the radius of the front wheel (10" in my bike's case). HR might tell you that its FWM-ADP Adapter is required for that Mount. It's not. I just flipped a Wheel Holder (part of the rack assembly) and attached the Mount to it.
